To establish a Quick Stitch project in the Capital region. Quick stitch is a project that specialises in sowing using a heavy material cloth and leather. Their products are mostly sold at the mines. The intention of this project is to create jobs for persons with disabilities, to further reintegrate them into society and to help instil a culture of being self-sustainable. Twenty persons with disabilities will be identified and trained in quick stitch skills. The training will be facilitated by a mentor/trainer from quick stitch.The project is scheduled to end in September 2014.
In Scope:
To identify persons with disabilities (via the disability forum) to be trained and work at the project
To compile a list and send to the service provider
To agree on the date for Phokeng Factory visit- for practical training and assessment of potential candidates per ability and disability
Draft training schedule with service provider on the selected or qualified candidate
