To draft a detailed concept document, architectural plan and raise funds for the RBN museum that will be done in collaboration with the Rustenburg Local Municipality and the North West Dept of Sports, Arts & Culture. The museum will represent all the people of the Phokeng/Rustenburg area and will be built on Bafokeng land. It will be interactive and will reflect many different aspects of the region's history and present, including the cultures of the area, histories of migration, governance and socio-economic developments (such as land acquisition and mining), and future plans for the region. The first phase of the project will be completed by December 2016.
In scope:
To establish a steering committee with all relevant stakeholders to conceptualize and plan the museum;
To consult the relevant RBN stakeholders and locate land for the museum;
To agree on the contents/themes of the museum and draft a concept document detailing these;
To draft terms of reference and appoint a service provider to draft architectural design and layout of the museum; and
To raise funds for the actualization of the museum.
