Project Scope:

To develop an overarching Developmental Plan for the Royal Bafokeng Nation that will include the vision, the mission statement, the various models of development and all the policies for service delivery, poverty alleviation and nation-building within the RBN and to revamp the old vision that needs a holistic, integrated policy set and the model to be better expressed and better understood.  The Plan '35 will be a consultative, inclusive, and critical process of examining our current practices against our goals, sustainability measures and also against best practice.  This will be a tool for the RBN Governance but to be used by all entities of the RBN. 

In Scope:

Critical activities include to:

  • Speak to a broad range of stakeholders about how they perceive the “Bafokeng Vision” (this was started in 2014)
  • Collect the full range of current Bafokeng policies, assisting in filling in policy gaps
  • Team up with consultancy team, or assemble an internal team, to marry vision with
  • Economic development models – Poverty alleviation, job creation, skills development, investment climate
  • Human development models – Education, Health, Social Integration
  • Organisation models – governmental, operational and financial models within the RBN-fold
  • Municipal cooperation/responsibility plans – who does what, with whose money from where?
  • Nation-building model – how can people participate in decision-making, which values do we imbue and how, how do we construct and reinforce identity, who is regarded as part of the RBN?
  • Formulate a plan which moves from the vision’s objectives towards the right policies in each field
  • Plan a brand component, and launching concept to go with the Plan
  • Rigorously and relentlessly enforce both the brand and the plan
