To draft a comprehensive plan, by 30th November 2014, that will provide guiding principles for the use of the archaeological sites documented during the 2013 archaeological survey. The plan will be drafted by a service provider and will only be finalised after intensive stakeholder engagement.
The plan will ensure that the sites retain significance and are preserved if visited or developed for tourism purposes. It will also guide enhancement, presentation and maintenance of the sites.
The plan will provide guidance regarding the sites’ cultural significance, both provincially and nationally and is a statutory requirement for declaring sites as National/Provincial Heritage sites.
In scope:
Draft terms of reference for the consultant and procure services of consultant;
Hold inception meeting with consultant;
Review draft management plan;
Review final management plan;
Disseminate plan to relevant stakeholders; and
Draft action plan based on management plan.
