To implement an uninterruptable power supply for Civic data center this will be feeding all four data rooms in the Civic center. The main purpose for implementing a UPS system is to ensure that unplanned power outages do not affect business operations, as it will allow the servers and switches to continue running during outages, and provides protection from power surges. The entire UPS system was procured in 2012; as a result the batteries have expired since they spent more than two years not operating. IT will have to procure new batteries and run with the installation thereafter. A service provider will be appointed to do the installation; the entire process should be done by the September 2015.
