To provide personal storage space on Data centre servers for staff files, and to engender a philosophy amongst staff of saving all business-related files on that storage space. To further provide sufficient backup capabilities for that storage to be sure that security concerns are alleviated. We will install and configure a back-up software to provide central storage services with distribution capabilities to run agents and collect data from clients PC's. The department will also procure enough storage equipment to cater for most of the our management staff and key staff members with systems containing critical information of the organization. For our data security and replication will also acquire and contract an off-site data storage supplier.
In scope:
Work related documents and files normally stored locally on laptops or PCs;
Work related files staff may be distributing amongst their own flash drives / external HDDs, etc.
Purchasing of equipment;
Installations;
Licencing of equipment/software;
Appointment of an off site storage supplier; and
Setting up the system.
Out of scope:
Personal, none work related files, e.g. Movies, music, etc;
Email storage, which is covered under its own server storage and backup facility.
